How we do it

Innovation

We harness cutting-edge data and technology to give our members a competitive edge – helping them spot opportunities early, respond to market shifts, and plan with confidence.

Central to this is our unmatched Insights Programme, which shows what makes the West End, the West End. Each month, we process over 96 million data points to build a detailed picture of the district’s complex ecosystem, translating this intelligence into real commercial opportunity.

This depth of insight underpins our role as the authoritative voice for the West End: trusted to provide the most relevant and robust data on the district, its contribution to the UK economy, and its global competitiveness.

Empowering Businesses with Data and Insight

Our Aim: To harness cutting-edge data, technology and thought leadership to inform and empower our members and position the West End as a leader in global competitiveness and sustainability.

Our core services:

• Regular footfall bulletins, visitor behaviour and sales performance reports – including detailed information on monthly sales, footfall, transactions and average transaction value (ATV).

• Bi-annual visitor insights reports, based on survey of over 1,000 West End visitors and designed to help members better understand visitor sentiment, motivation and perception.

• Landmark reports that dive into the most pertinent topics affecting the West End and local businesses, with previous examples including the pedestrianisation of Oxford Street and the impact of the Elizabeth Line.

• Annual and 10-year West End Turnover forecasting, helping members plan for key trading periods such as Christmas, and into the future.

• Tourism insights, from international spend and origin to footfall and dwell, illustrating who is visiting and spending in the West End.

• West End Insights Programme, which blends different data sources via an interactive dashboard, ensuring stakeholders have the latest data to inform decision-making.

New West End's investment in insights, marketing, operations and placemaking helps keep it front of mind for visitors from across the UK and around the world.
