Art in Mayfair 2023 saw the brands of Bond Street and Mayfair come together with the Royal Academy of Arts for a month of art and culture.

Now in its sixth year, Art in Mayfair, celebrates Mayfair’s rich art heritage and the remarkable relationship between art and fashion, timed to coinciding with annual Summer Exhibition. Working in partnership with the Royal Academy, the destination’s streets are transformed into a live exhibition, with art flags, an immersive outdoor sculpture trail and four weeks of special events, talks, walks and showcases.
Contemporary British artist Bob & Roberta Smith RA created this year’s Art in Mayfair flags, entitled A puzzle 4U. The flags flew above Bond Street and, for the first time, were installed on North Audley Street, South Audley Street and Duke Street. The flags caused quite the buzz on social media with the reveal of them on Bond Street’s Instagram reel racking up 27.8K views.
The iconic sculpture trail also returned for 2023, with over £2million worth of large – scale artwork showcased from Barry Flanagan OBE RA, Johnny Hawkes, Kalliopi Lemos and Bernar Venet, creating an immersive art experience where visitors could explore both the temporary and permanent artworks across the destination.
This year’s Art in Mayfair also saw a number of in-store artist collaborations across Bond Street, with luxury Italian menswear brand Canali partnering with Dario Vargas to present a selection of works by this contemporary fine artist, including vibrant window displays. Elsewhere on the street, Hanro collaborated with British artist Charlotte Posner to create an exclusive print, showcased on products.
As well as the in-store collaborations, Bob & Roberta Smith flags adoring Mayfair streets and world renowned artists large-scale sculptures sprinkled around the destination, this year’s celebration of art and fashion included a podcast series that featured partner artists in conversation with Art Critic Maeve Doyle. Art in Mayfair 2023 also included the commission of a thought leadership essay showcasing the important story of the intricate relationship between art and fashion. “Living at the Crossroads of Fashion & Art” was written by British art and design academic, Frances Corner and explores the symbiotic relationship between fashion and art. It also spotlights Bond Street’s physical demonstration of this relationship, where galleries and fashion houses exist side by side.
