Attracting customers and increasing spend
Customer are the lifeblood of the West End. We put significant time and investment into marketing activities that will drive footfall and attract high-value shoppers and tourists who browse for longer and spend more with our businesses.
Last year 8 million new visitors attended our traffic-free and Christmas events on Oxford Street and Regent Street (delivered by the Regent Street Association) generating £1.5 million in sponsorship income.
Our ‘By Appointment’ initiative, a bespoke service providing curated experiences across the London Luxury Quarter, resulted in £1 million direct spend into member businesses.
Destination West End
A programme of world-class events and campaigns across the district in 2017 will further position the West End as the retail, gourmet and cultural heartland of the capital, promote our vision for a new West End and encourage people from around the world to visit us.
Highlights will include the Regent Street Traffic-Free Events party, London is Open ‘West End Welcome’ campaign and the launch of Bird Street, piloting the world’s first smart street featuring pop-ups and pavements generating electricity through footsteps.

Promoting inward investment
Building on our strong presence on UK national and trade media platforms, we promote the vast opportunities available in the West End to future occupiers and corporate investors through our inward investment programme.
This has seen us promote the West End on a global stage at key retail and real estate forums including MAPIC, ICSC Dealmakers and MIPIM Asia, generating over £1 million in coverage reaching 43 million people worldwide.
