Today New West End Company took part in the launch of the second round of consultation from Transport for London and Westminster City Council. When the Elizabeth Line opens next year, it will bring an extra 120,000 visitors each day and increase turnover by £1bn by 2020. This presents an incredible economic opportunity for the West End, and by creating a cleaner, less congested Oxford Street, the West End will be best placed to capitalise on the incredible economic benefits on offer.
Jace Tyrrell, Chief Executive of New West End Company provided comment on the launch, which was picked up across national media including the BBC, ITV, London Evening Standard and the Financial Times.
New West End Company will be responding on behalf of West End businesses to the consultation. For more information on this please read our dedicated Oxford Street Vision page.
