Tuesday 6 November marked the kick-off of the Christmas season in London’s West End with Rita Ora switching on the Oxford Street Christmas lights. Whilst Oxford Street was filled with festive shoppers enjoying a fabulous show, New West End Company was also at Selfridges to finally unveil our business proposal for 2018-2021, a document that shows our plans for the next three years to deliver a new West End.
The programme will maximise the benefits of Crossrail, secure funding for transformative new regeneration projects, bring even more investment into London’s West End, and see us continue to advocate on the issues that are most important to our members.
The launch event was sponsored by Global Blue and took place in the VIP tax-free shopping lounge in Selfridges. We were joined by many of our members and received the support of our most valued political partners like Cllr Nickie Aiken, Leader of Westminster City Council and Rajesh Agrawal, Deputy Mayor of London Business, and of course the Mayor of London himself.
The Mayor of London made a special video message for us to show his support for our work in delivering a new West End:
