On The Day

For the first time in the spring season Oxford Street will be traffic-free on Saturday 23 May. The West End will turn into a giant street party for one day only with an amazing 10m model rocket and dozens of live characters from Night at the Museum 2, out in cinemas 20 May.

From 12 noon until 5pm you and your friends will be treated to a feast of free entertainment and thousands of giveaways and offers from many of the Oxford Street shops and restaurants. Many stores will stay open until 9pm.

What’s more, as the kids safely roam the street, they will have the chance to have their photo taken with their favourite character from the film Night at the Museum 2 and families will even be treated to exclusive sneak previews from four giant TVs.

West End stores including Selfridges, Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, John Lewis, House of Fraser, Primark, McDonalds and Boots will provide thrilling family entertainment including live music, in-store offers, promotions and themed entertainment across the street.

To celebrate the birthday of the West End you will be invited to take part in the record attempt for the largest parcel in a pass-the-parcel accompanied by a marching band, makes its way along Oxford Street. With hidden prizes between the layers from several of Oxford Street's largest retailers, families have the chance to claim some fantastic prizes to take away with them on the day.
