The West End Powerhouse

The West End is a powerhouse of Britain’s economy. Its Gross Value Added (GVA), the measure of its contribution to the economy, is £51 billion annually, more than The City (£43.9 billion) and almost as much as the  whole of Wales (£52 billion).

But the West End must continue to invest heavily, not just to accommodate forecast increases in visitor numbers when the Elizabeth Line opens in 2018, but also to realise its full potential in the face of increasing global competition.

Our new West End Powerhouse booklet explains the importance of the West End and outlines measures needed to support its growing success for the benefit of the whole of the UK.
